Fashion
French footwear brand founded in Paris by childhood friends Sébastien Kopp and François-Ghislain Morillion, whose name means "look" in Portuguese. After careers in banking and running an NGO that took them to study supply chains across South America, Asia, and Australia, the founders launched Veja with around €12,000 and a direct relationship with organic cotton farmers and wild rubber tappers in Brazil. The brand has never spent money on advertising or celebrity gifting, building its following entirely through editorial coverage and word of mouth. Veja operates as a private, wholly founder-owned company and manufactures all footwear in Brazil.
