Fashion
British menswear retailer launched in 1978 as the male counterpart to Topshop under the Burton Group, responding to the decline in traditional men's tailoring and a rising demand for casual fashion. Topman grew alongside Topshop as part of the Arcadia Group under Philip Green, operating as a standalone menswear brand across the UK high street and internationally. It entered administration with Arcadia in November 2020 and was acquired by ASOS in February 2021 for £265 million (alongside Topshop, Miss Selfridge, and HIIT). In September 2024, ASOS sold a 75% stake in Topman and Topshop to Bestseller via its Heartland vehicle; ASOS retained 25%.
