The Children's Place is a public company.

American specialty retailer of children's apparel and accessories, founded in 1969 by Harvard Business School graduates David Pulver and Clinton Clark. The company was sold to Federated Department Stores in 1981, changed hands again in 1988, and ultimately went public on the Nasdaq in 1997 under the ticker PLCE. Headquartered in Secaucus, New Jersey, it operates as one of the largest pure-play children's specialty retailers in North America, selling exclusively under its own proprietary brand across retail stores, its website, and wholesale channels. The company has increasingly shifted toward a digital-first model, closing hundreds of physical locations through the early 2020s.
