Personal Care

The Body Shop is owned by Auréa Group.

British ethical beauty and cosmetics retailer founded in Brighton, England in 1976 by Dame Anita Roddick, built on the founding principles of ethical trade, environmental responsibility, and opposition to animal testing. The Body Shop was one of the first major cosmetics companies to campaign against animal testing and champion fair-trade ingredient sourcing. Its flagship products include the Vitamin E range, Hemp Hand Protector, Shea Body Butter, and Drops of Youth. L'Oréal acquired the brand in 2006 and sold it to Brazilian cosmetics company Natura &Co in 2017 for £880 million. The Body Shop was sold again to Aurelius Group in 2023 following Natura's financial difficulties, and underwent significant store closures and restructuring in the UK in 2024.
