American sun care and beach lifestyle brand founded in 2010 in Cocoa Beach, Florida by Tom Rinks and Marc Magerman, built around a playful, beach-culture aesthetic anchored in a cartoon monkey mascot. Sun Bum launched with a premium, broad-spectrum SPF mineral and chemical sunscreen line before expanding into hair care, lip balm, and self-tanner with the same reef-conscious, vegan, cruelty-free positioning.

It was acquired by SC Johnson in 2019 for a reported $400 million.
