Rossignol is an independent company.

French winter sports equipment and apparel brand founded in Voiron, Isère by carpenter Abel Rossignol, who applied his woodworking skills to produce skis and sold the first batch to the French army. The company grew into a global leader in alpine, Nordic, and snowboard equipment under the Boix-Vives family, who acquired it in the 1950s and expanded it internationally. Rossignol also owns the Dynastar, Look, and Lange brands, and has more recently expanded into outerwear, mountain bikes, and trail running. It has been majority owned by the Scandinavian investment fund Altor Equity Partners alongside the Boix-Vives family since 2013.
