German luxury goods brand founded in Hamburg in 1906 as Simplo Filler Pen Co. by stationery merchant Claus-Johannes Voss, banker Alfred Nehemias, and engineer August Eberstein, later renamed Montblanc after Europe's highest peak. The brand built its international reputation on the Meisterstück (Masterpiece) fountain pen, introduced in 1924, which remains its signature product. Montblanc has expanded into watches, leather goods, jewellery, eyewear, and fragrances. Dunhill acquired Montblanc in 1977, bringing it into what would become the Richemont group through Vendôme.
