Fashion
Members Only is an American apparel brand created by clothing entrepreneur Herb Goldsmith, who was inspired by a jacket with snapped epaulettes he encountered in Germany and developed his own version using chintz fabric from Japan. Introduced to the American market in 1980 by Europe Craft Imports, the brand became a defining label of 1980s popular culture at its peak before declining through the 1990s. The brand was revived in the 2000s through celebrity exposure and nostalgia, and has since been acquired and operated by Ron Malhotra through MO 1975 LLC since December 2011, expanding into a broader range of apparel and accessories.
