Marimekko is a public company.

Finnish lifestyle design company founded in Helsinki by Viljo Ratia and his wife Armi Ratia, who had acquired the textile printing company Printex the previous year to produce boldly patterned fabrics. Armi Ratia became the creative force behind the brand, commissioning original print designs from Finnish artists and launching the first Marimekko clothing collection to showcase the fabrics in 1951. The brand attracted international attention when Jacqueline Kennedy was photographed wearing Marimekko dresses during the 1960 US presidential campaign. Marimekko is publicly listed on Nasdaq Helsinki and operates over 170 stores globally, with key markets in Northern Europe, Asia-Pacific, and North America.
