Fashion
American apparel company founded in 1853 by Levi Strauss in San Francisco, and one of the world's largest brand-name clothing companies. In 1873, Levi Strauss and tailor Jacob Davis received a US patent for riveted denim work pants — inventing the modern blue jean. The company remains majority-controlled by the Haas family (descendants of the founder) and is publicly traded on the NYSE. Today its portfolio is focused on the Levi's and Beyond Yoga brands following the 2025 sale of Dockers to Authentic Brands Group.
