French luxury leather goods maison founded in Paris by Angèle and Alphonse Lancel, initially as a maker of pipes and smoking accessories before their son Albert pivoted the house toward leather goods and travel items in the early 20th century. Over the decades, Lancel became known for commissioning designs from artists including Salvador Dalí and for iconic bags such as the Elsa bucket. The house was acquired by Richemont in 2002 and subsequently sold to Italian leather goods group Piquadro SpA in 2018.
