Beauty
Ultra-luxury skincare brand created by aerospace physicist Dr. Max Huber in the 1960s after he sustained chemical burns in a laboratory accident and spent over a decade developing a healing formula. Huber's proprietary Miracle Broth — a fermented sea kelp concentrate — became the basis for his Crème de la Mer, which he sold privately until his death in 1991. The Estée Lauder Companies acquired La Mer in 1995 along with the original Miracle Broth recipe, and grew the brand into a billion-dollar franchise distributed in luxury retail globally.
