Fashion
German-founded luxury fashion house established in Hamburg by designer Jil Sander, who opened her first boutique selling her own minimalist designs alongside curated European fashion. The brand became internationally recognised in the 1980s and 1990s for its precise tailoring, refined materials, and rigorous rejection of ornament, earning Sander the nickname "Queen of Less."
The house changed ownership several times — passing through Prada, Change Capital Partners, and Onward Holdings — before being acquired by the OTB Group in March 2021. Sander herself departed her namesake brand on multiple occasions and has not been involved since 2013.
