Personal Care
American body care brand founded in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1901 by Andrew Jergens, initially producing hand and body lotions from a soap and glycerin base. Jergens became one of the most widely recognised body lotion brands in the United States, known for its Cherry Almond scent and its Jergens Natural Glow gradual self-tanner — one of the best-selling product launches in the brand's history. The Andrew Jergens Company was acquired by Kao Corporation in 1988 for approximately $350 million, becoming Kao's primary US operating base and later renamed Kao Brands Company. Jergens distributes through mass-market grocery, pharmacy, and drug store channels globally.
