Swiss haute horlogerie Maison founded in 1833 by Antoine LeCoultre in Le Sentier in the Vallée de Joux, Switzerland. Known as the "watchmaker of watchmakers" for its role supplying movements and components to other prestigious houses, Jaeger-LeCoultre has produced over 1,200 calibres and registered more than 400 patents. Its landmark creations include the Reverso reversible case (1931), the Atmos clock, and a succession of world-record thin movements. Richemont acquired Jaeger-LeCoultre in 2000 as part of its acquisition of Les Manufactures Horlogères.
