Ethique is an independent company.

The company started in 2012 when Brianne West started developing formulas in her kitchen, with the brand called Sorbet. The first Ethique solid shampoo bar, Mintasy, was made as an alternative to the 80 billion plastic shampoo and conditioner bottles thrown out globally every year.
