Fashion
American fashion brand formally launched in 1974 by Israeli-born designer Elie Tahari, who arrived in New York in 1971 with less than $100 and began designing after popularising the tube top in 1973. Known for feminine, sophisticated tailoring and power suits that defined professional women's dressing through the 1980s and 1990s, the brand reached $1 billion in retail sales by 2019. In 2018, Tahari and Bluestar Alliance formed a joint venture called TBH Brand Holdings LLC, with Bluestar assuming day-to-day management and licensing of the Tahari and T Tahari collections internationally. The designer continues to oversee the premium Elie Tahari collection and retains the brand's intellectual property.
