Fashion
British womenswear brand founded in London in April 2020 by Emma Hill, a former fashion industry buyer who built the brand as a response to wasteful practices she witnessed working in mainstream fashion. The name comes from two colours used in early fabric dye experiments: Damson (plum) and Madder (a flowering plant that yields natural red dye). Damson Madder operates on a small-batch production model, releasing tightly curated drops of 15–35 styles with no more than 350 units per style, using predominantly GOTS-certified organic cotton, recycled fabrics, and deadstock materials. The brand is run by a female-led team in North London and distributes through its own direct-to-consumer channel as well as wholesale partners including Harvey Nichols and Galeries Lafayette. It gained significant cultural traction via social media, particularly a viral leopard-print cargo trouser.
