French luxury jewellery and watchmaking Maison founded in Paris in 1847 by Louis-François Cartier. The house built its international reputation through royal and aristocratic patronage, earning the title "jeweller of kings, king of jewellers." Cartier is renowned for iconic collections including the Love bracelet, Panthère, and Juste un Clou in jewellery, and the Tank, Santos, and Calibre in watches, as well as leather goods, fragrances, and eyewear. It is the flagship and most commercially significant brand in the Richemont group, accounting for the majority of group revenue. Richemont acquired majority ownership of Cartier in 1979 through its predecessor Vendôme Luxury Group.
