Fashion
French fashion label founded in Paris in 1987 by Jean Touitou as a reaction to the maximalism of 1980s fashion, with the name standing for Atelier de Production et de Création. A.P.C. became emblematic of understated French style through its focus on quality basics — particularly raw selvedge denim — workwear references, and restrained branding, gaining a devoted following among designers, musicians, and creatives worldwide. Beyond clothing and accessories, the brand also releases music records. Jean Touitou's wife Judith Touitou has been closely involved in the brand for decades. In 2023, A.P.C. sold a majority stake to L Catterton, the LVMH- and Groupe Arnault-backed private equity firm; Jean and Judith Touitou retained a significant minority stake and remain involved with the brand. A.P.C. operates stores in Paris, New York, Tokyo, London, and other major cities globally.
