Fashion
American luxury fashion brand founded in New York in 2005 by Alexander Wang, who launched the label at age 21 with a knitwear collection after leaving Parsons School of Design. Wang was awarded the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund in 2008, accelerating the brand's rise. Known for its urban, sportswear-inflected take on luxury, the brand expanded into full ready-to-wear, accessories, and footwear for men and women, and operated a diffusion line, T by Alexander Wang. From 2012 to 2015, Wang simultaneously served as creative director of Balenciaga. The company is family-founded and family-led, with Wang serving as creative director; minority outside investors joined the business in recent years. The brand operates 49 stores globally and has shifted toward a predominantly direct-to-consumer model.
