Fashion
French luxury fashion house founded in Paris in 1964 by Tunisian-born designer Azzedine Alaïa, renowned for body-conscious sculpted silhouettes achieved through exceptional pattern-cutting and precision tailoring. Alaïa remained deliberately independent and outside the fashion calendar for much of his career, selling directly from his studio and atelier. Richemont acquired a minority stake in Maison Alaïa in 2007 and took majority control after Alaïa's death in November 2017, retaining the Alaïa family and staff to preserve the house's singular identity. The Maison is based at its historic address on Rue de Moussy in the Marais, Paris, where Alaïa lived and worked.
